this is just going to be a short nothing post b/c i haven't too much to write about lately.

actually, i *have been posting, just not on this blog. i've got three long-ish updates on my book club blog regarding our last meeting, so if you're interested in "the horse and his boy" or "prince caspian", please check it out and leave a msg! also, please leave a comment wrt the poll: is mr. tumnus a friendly faun or mean molester?

reading week, though fairly uneventful, was good as it allowed me a chance to catch up on sleep and see a few of my mci friends. unfortunately, as soon this past monday rolled around, my body immediately tensed up with the thoughts of class, upcoming assignments, and exams. :s

for lent, i have decided to give up all those garbage-filled (but oh-so-diverting) entertainment and gossip sites that i waste so many web-surfing hours on. i really, really hope that i'll turn to more productive activities (heh, school work? reading?) with this freed-up time, and i hope even more that i actually spend some of it as quality time with God. i've been having a pretty rough time of it lately, with my spiritual life, and i'm not sure exactly what i need to do to get it on track. actually, no, that's not true, i *do know what it is that i need to do, i just don't have the motivation or discipline to stick to it. it's not that i'm having a crisis of faith or anything, but the more insidious (and dangerous) problem of apathy and lukewarm-ness. i sit passively by while others are up and out doing things for others (and esp. God). lately, i've been feeling rather disconnected and unmoved by "spiritual things" and other people even - and i feel like i've spent the past while coasting on the fact that i used to be so active and passionate and i used "know my stuff". now i've found that the little foundation which had laid down before is nothing but a shell of what it once was (which, to be honest, was humble enough to start with). sorry for the mixed metaphors, guys, but i just can't quite think of how to convey what i'm feeling very well.

no worries though, all is not lost. one of the most amazing things about our faith is sometimes one of the most forgotten things: His grace. although i want to be more active in my faith, it still doesn't matter what i do or don't do -- being more active doesn't make more christian or more saved than the next person. it doesn't matter what i do b/c it's all up to God.
