happy early birthday hotdonna!

celebrated donna's birthday at springrolls with some of my pharm friends tonight... had a really good time. i'm sooooo glad and relieved that i've met some really good people this year! :) i'm still me when i'm with them, but you know what i just realised? i'm still a bit reserved with them. not in a bad way, but most of the time, i kinda launch into friendships and my new friends usually know my lifestory after the first week or so! (well, maybe not exactly... but it's not really like my life has much to tell anyway...) but it's kinda good this way, i think. this way, i'm slowly developping/building these friendships and we don't get a premature sense of closeness, you know? b/c that's happened before. i totally clicked with some people but i think we got a little too overfamiliar with each other too early - we were close and quite similar in many respects, but we still didn't completely know each other, you know what i mean? but it's all good, i'll take any friendships that come along - it makes the world a much more interesting place!

aw, i miss my queen's buddies now! (even hasib!) come home soon, grace! we need to biftheque when you get back!

speaking of coming home for the holidays, have you guys started your christmas shopping yet? i'm so not going to get it done this year - my stupid exams are in the way! i have no idea when i'll find the time and/or money... sigh. so, for possible future reference, what do you guys want for christmas?? :p

p.s. hi felix! and welcome matt!

see marco, i'm updating this just for you! :)

ok, ok. on to matters of importance: top model? norelle's adorable (and the most likeable one in a predominantly unlikeable season), but she's dumb as a post!
Norelle is nervous and says, "I hear that...I don't know if they're called...Japanese people is [sic] from Tokyo? Or Tokyans?"

:p

oh, and i just have to say this: HA! I'M NOT CRAZY! IN YOUR FACE!!!! MWAHAHAHA!!! years ago, i saw a commercial for saved by the bell dolls that came with little autograph stamps... i only saw it on air once - i knew that i didn't just imagine it, but no one believed me! they thought i was crazy and making it up, but now i am vindicated!!! [cold. hard. irrefutable. proof.]

ok, so i'm currently engrossed in the alias season 3 dvd... anika, this is all your fault! you've got me (and my parents, funnily enough) obsessed! i'm a little dubious of this season's plot ( i hate mrs. vaughn! i miss spy mommy! what the heck is going on this season?!), but it's still addictive to say the least. don't tell me what goes on in the rest of the season yet b/c i'm only on the 6th episode right now! (it's only a matter of time, i'll be caught up by the time the new season comes about. hmmm... dilemma: girls' night on wednesday w/alias? or thursday w/the oc?) anyhow, here are my requests/wishes for this season: no more lauren and her weird accent. more vaughn (especially when he's speaking french. le sigh.), more jack (b/c i looooove victor garber!). bring back irina, and while you're at it, will wouldn't be so bad!

oh, don't you love it when i end up blogging all about tv shows? i'm pathetic, yes, i know.

hmmm... i really should be going to sleep about now... i have an early and BORING class tommorrow and i'm a little sleep deprived from studying for my phm128 MT (which went well, btw). oooh, so after the exam, my friends were in the capsi compounding competition and they wanted me there to cheer them on. i was the coach of "team tiffany"! it was pretty neat - i got to see people make ointments, banana-flavoured suspensions (potent stuff, i tells ya), and even suppositories! and my team (the only first years there) didn't do too bad - they made 2 out of the 3 - and we haven't even learned how to do any of that stuff yet. anyhow, it seemed pretty cool although i still can't believe that i'll be able to do all this nonsense by the time i'm done this schooling.

ok, i'm off to bed. gotta keep enough energy to learn to play squash tommorrow! wish me hand-eye coordination!

sigh. it's been a long while since i last wrote, hasn't it?

you know the reason why i haven't updated my blog in ages? i actually wrote a really long blog at the beginning of this school year talking about pharmacy, etc. etc. but then blogger screwed up and deleted my post. after that, i felt like it was just too much effort to retype all my scholarly musings and first impressions so i decided to just not bother.

so... i'm just going to forego all the intro to pharm stuff, ok? here's all you need to know for now:
1) i really, i really like it. i've never before enjoyed this much of school so thoroughly.
2) on the other hand, school is still school, so there are a few classes that are b.o.r.i.n.g. (namely my "pharmacy as a profession" sociology course where i learned that "death is a health state that is undesirable. ugh. this is the one class where i can noticeably tell that people just aren't bothering to go to... and that's saying a lot b/c pharmacy people are all big keeners.)
3) oh yeah, pharmacy people are all big keeners. since i'm usually on the brink of being late to class each morning, i keep hoping that the majority of my classmates will be less diligent as the school year passes and that i'll be able to find a good, extra seat nearby my friends. it's been 3 months and i'm still waiting...
4) wednesdays off this first term! yay! (i feel like an arts student!)
5) the people are all really nice and i've made some good friends. and they're not all asian too!
and lastly for now: 6) only 25% of my fellow 0t8s are guys and most of the are chinese. :(

oh, and let me share a little tidbit i learned in anatomy a few weeks ago: a human has the same number of hairs as an ape of roughly the same size, it's just the type of hair (fine vs. coarse) that is different. even if you're balding, just look really closely and you'll see the number of hairs on your head stays about the same, it's just that your hair type is changing from one to the other... i've seen the top of my grandpa's head and i can vouch for that. (heh, though i bet none of you guys would own up to balding... such a touchy issue! :p) anyhow, so here's what you can take home from all this: you should now start telling people that they're "hairy as an ape" b/c it's totally true! do it!

there. done.
