hope everyone had a merry christmas!!!!
this break has been so wonderful - it's given me a chance to catch-up with friends (ames, jenne, bun), sleep in, and spend some time with my family. plus, there's the added bonus of not writing any exams for the time being, so i can't really complain about that. i'm actually very content with life right now (despite the many hardships of school)... i dunno, this year especially i feel as though i don't really need any more things - i've got all i need. don't get me wrong, it's still nice getting new clothes and stuff (a nano from my awesome brother!!! an imitation magic bullet from my great parents!!!), but i'm blessed with so much already that i was happy even without those things. (now i'm just even *happier*...) :p
christmas day was great - i spent it with my family and the added bonus of cath, hm, and iulia. we ate tons of yummy food and desserts, listened to original music, sang, and watched napoleon dynamite and family guy. i *do* have to say that i was a little disappointed with the former though, everyone kept telling me it was an awesome movie and it's supposedly made nerdiness cool, but it just... didn't have any plot whatsoever! i mean, i laughed all throughout the movie, but since there wasn't really a plot to bring those funny moments together, i felt largely underwhelmed... hehe, but i'm still going to try to work "gimme some of your tots" and "i caught you a delicious bass" into all of my conversations from now on... :p
boxing day, the hui's had a delicious dinner party at their place. great roast beef, ames! great surf clam sauce, ju? heh. we played "ticket to ride", another german boardgame that it actually less complicated than it seems (even though it takes more than 5 minutes to explain how to play it!) and i could totally see playing this as much as we did carcassonne over the summer.
surprisingly to most of you, i bet, i actually did not go shopping at all these past few days.
today, we had this big family dinner with our family, our extended family, uncle fred's family, amy, and alan! jenne came over extra early, and we spend most of the day poring over wedding magazines. i think 2006 is going to be just as crazy as 2004 was, wedding-wise. look at the engagements of 2005: allison & drew, shirley & kevin, clara & toby, jenne & duncan, derrick & linda! my goodness! looks like i'll be able to wear all those pretty dresses i bought after all. :p uh oh, i think tiffy is going into wedding mode - i have this urge to buy all these bridal magazines... (don't be alarmed, i'm only jesting. kinda.)

as kalam has eloquently put it: "exams suck the balls". i wholeheartedly agree. that might possibly be why i'm blogging less than one hour away from heading downtown to write my last one (and i haven't even finished looking everything over yet). at this point? i. just. don't. care.
in other news: ames is coming, ames is coming, ames is coming... soon!!! :) and so is my "big sister", jenne, with big news! ;)
got a top model date tonight and finally going to see the narnia movie with the book club ppl... can't wait!!!

four down in a span of five (!) days. though, as hellish, stressful and hand-cramping this week was, there were still some very nice moments.
only one more exam to go.

*sniff sniff*
tiffy feels lonely. :( she misses tacb, her mci friends, her "american" friends, and dave. and this is all compounded by the fact that she still has one more freakin' exam left this monday and can't seem to concentrate at all!
good think she's got the bunny to keep her company or else she'd be a wreck. everyone, please hurry back home soon!

i know i said i wasn't going to blog again 'til after my exams, but this was too ridiculous for me to pass up. and just when you thought actors couldn't get any more self-delusional, we meet mr. gallo. and lest you think that the site is a big joke, the man himself names this page as his official merchandise shop.
read the last item up for sale and the included blurb. one word: EW.
seriously, guys, read it. it's the most appalling and yet the funniest thing i've read in a long time. higlights include: "something to distract him from her alcoholic breath", "jew'ls", "nixon's unjust resignation", and "no cripples". who writes this stuff?!?

now comes the onslaught of exams... let the weeping begin :(
had my first exam earlier today and i think it went fairly well. now i'm off to study for the other 4 exams that i've got these next 7 days. wish me luck, and don't expect me back for atleast another week.
p.s. i'm very sorry to those whom i have promised "real" emails to... it's been pretty non-stop with finals lately, i haven't found much time to do anything else.
tues 13 - health systems exam thurs 15 - biochem fri 16 - micro; dave leaves :( mon 19- pharmaceutics tues 20- narnia movie w/book club! wed 21 - ames comes home!!! fri 23 - jenne comes home!!!
Monday, December 05, 2005 smokeless joe's last night: 4 lbs of 1/2-priced mussels (don't worry, split b/t 2 ppl :p ), a pint of raspberry wheat beer, and quite tipsy (but good) company = a deliciously uproarious time! (i highly recommend both the moutarde and the red curry mussels.)
had a wonderful weekend. :) i really think that i'm quite addicted to the boy. now back to school, studying, and annoying high school morons on the ttc.
hey, so two random ttc-related questions: 1. so, with the sudden appearance of escalator safety posters on the subway, do you think there was a sudden rash of escalator-related incidences? 2. do you guys ever get offended when somebody who is sitting beside you shifts to another seat when space frees up? don't get me wrong, i like and appreciate the extra personal space, but i can't help but get a tad huffy over it - kinda like, "what, i'm not good enought for you?! hmph!!! fine then! go sit over there! see if i care! ... jerk." does anyone ever feel that way too? (also, when i'm the one who should shift over, i always feel like i should apologise to the person i'm sitting next to... "i hope you don't take any offense, but i'm just going to shift to the free seat beside me so that we each have a little more room.")
p.s. let me just note that i am fully confident in my hygiene skills, so these people are NOT moving away from me b/c of any malodorous aromas.
