hmmm. even more evidence that ___ is a big jerk.
can't say i'm surprised. i'm sad about it for everyone involved, but not surprised. keep this up, and you're not going to have any friends at all, buddy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUN!!!!! <3

going to kbbq to celebrate the twins' birthday today... it'll be great to see my darling tacb again!

hey, have you guys heard of those t-mobile callertunes? ok, so imagine you're giving me a call on my cell right now, and instead of hearing ringing you hear one of these. ok, you have to listen to ludacris' "i'm here to soothe you" voice-over thing...

ok, i'm off to study. leave me a message at the beep comments section!

p.s. hi danny! :)

um, is it bad that i got, like, 15% yield for one of my chem lab products? on the plus side, i didn't spill any acids on myself today!

fun fact from anatomy class:
just a thought for those of you planning on dental hygiene-free and liquid diet lifestyles -- if you don't scrape your tongue through either brushing or eating veggies, your filiform papillae (mid-tongue taste bud-looking thingies) will grow strands of keratin from them and in a matter of a few days, you'll get thing condition called "hairy tongue". yum. if it gets all moldy, then your tongue looks green and black and fuzzy. (trust me, we saw the very unappealing pictures.)

in other news, hi. how is everybody doing? i miss all of you! :)

countdown to bun's 21st birthday (and erin's 22nd): 25 hours remaining... i can't wait!

and lastly, for the gals: free 1-yr subscription to fashion18
yes, yes, i know i'm well over 18 years, but can you really complain when it's free? also, you get to read those hilarious questions/letters that were written in by clueless preteens! "ummm... can i get pregnant through my belly button?" <-- i'd like to say that the previous question was made up, but sadly this was not the case. i read it in a ym or seventeen a couple of years ago.

"shout-out" to my best: MEI!
love you lots, hun!

(don't worry, bun, i still love you too!)

oy, my head hurts.

i saw hotel rwanda today and we were sitting in the second row - a mistake i will not make twice, let me tell you! but the movie itself was really well done. i just can't believe how ignorant we were of the genocide... yeah, i can't really put my thoughts in words... just go see it, it'll make you think.

on an unrelated note: happy birthday brandon!!!
we went for kbbq for brandon's birthday yesterday and then went back to his house to hang out. we ended up playing a little bit of taboo and, as i expected, team "top model" (ju, matt, and i) resoundingly spanked jon, kal, and brandon's team. (we were "in the zone"! it's all about the mental connections!) here are a few gems from the game:

[word: cologne]
me: ok... um... this is what we were just spraying around in brandon's room.
matt: febreeze!
ju: korean barbecue!

[word: cocktail]
jon: {tries to explain that the word's an alcoholic drink that you have at a bar, but without actually saying those key words...}
kal/bubba: saloon! tavern! beer! etc.
jon: ok, what's a male rooster?
kal/bubba: a cock!
jon: ok, that's the first part of the word... now put it together with another word so that you get a beverage!
kal/bubba: cock juice?
jon: {while shooting a look of pure disbelief and disgust} NO!!!

(i'd like to take a moment to apologise any of those people who tried to google the aforementioned phrase and received this blog. sorry, nuthin' dirty here.)

anyhow, we had lots of fun, and i hope you had a great 22nd birthday, brandon!

ok, i really gotta go to sleep now... dizzy...

in closing: "i'm so homeless!" (the immortal words of vancouver dave)

besides the fact that they're stressful and too much work, one of the worst things about chem labs is that i'm always convinced that i've accidentally inhaled and ingested some powdered toxic chemical compound. i just never feel right after a lab and sometimes there's that faint chemically taste of a something on my lips... (mmmmm.. carboxylic acids...)
[please tell me that i'm not the only one who feels like this after labs!?!]

-- GAH!!! {jumps out of chair} that thunder was really loud!

so i've been listening to zero 7's when it falls cd nonstop lately, and it's been the perfect feel-good antidote to december/january's rottenly cold weather. the music is so warm and mellow and - as on their first album - the vocals are just gorgeous. if this album was a feeling, i'd say that it would be the feeling you get when it's cold and rainy outside, but it's the weekend and you're cozily bundled up in bed, day-dreaming of beautiful things.

and since i haven't blogged about boys for, like, a year
(pity there hasn't been anyone actually worth liking...),
this is my ideal guy:

you're the prince to my ballerina
you feed other people's parking meters
you encourage the eating of ice cream
you would somersault in sand with me

you talk to loners, you ask how's your week
you give love to all and give love to me
you're obsessed with hiding the sticks and stones
when I feel the unknown
you feel like home, you feel like home

you put my feet back on the ground
did you know you brought me around
you were sweet and you were sound
you saved me

you're the warmth in my summer breeze
you're the ivory to my ebony keys
you would share your last jelly bean
you would somersault in sand with me

you put my feet back on the ground
did you know you brought me around
you were sweet and you were sound
you saved me

you put my feet back on the ground
did you know you brought me around
you were sweet and you were sound
see I had shrunk yet still you wore me around
and 'round and 'round

brandon, you only get a birthday shout-out if your birthday has just passed or is coming up in a day or two. so there! :p

update on the sociology midterm: i have no idea.
i think i did fairly well? but then again, these kind of exams are too subjectively marked. hmph.

... and the most repeated phrase i heard after the exam was: "yeah... i just made up a lot of stuff..." it's great when you can just b.s. your way through an exam!

see, this is exactly why i don't blog so much these days: every time i update, blogger screws up on me and i end up losing my entire post! grrrrr.

ok, quick post that better work this time:

read this interesting report in the toronto star:
a 67-year-old drunken bulgarian man was knocked down by a car, and during his subsequent trip to the hospital, multiple tests found his blood-alcohol content to be 0.914!!! and he was still conscious, coherant, and most astonishingly NOT DEAD!!! keep in mind that the legal limit in canada is 0.08 and my prof told us that at levels of 0.3-something, you're already bordering on unconsciousness... now that is a man who can hold his liquor!

and now on to "life stuff":
hating my sociology course and its upcoming midterm. will definitely be glad when monday night 9:30pm rolls around. i think i'd rather look at root cross-sections than listen to all that drivel from class... (and we both remember how much i hated the first term of bio 200... so much, in fact, that i switched schools!)

ran into michelle from chinese school at spadina station!! it'll be good to catch up with her - i don't think i've seen her since grade 12 or OAC? how lucky am i to have so many friends with which i can just pick up where we last left off - even if its been months or years! it's truly a blessing b/c with my correspondance records, you'd think that i wouldn't have any friends left!

reading bun's blog with avidity... hang in there! i'm sure you'll start liking ottawa more and more!

didn't get to see my queen's buddies... stupid weather... atleast i'll get to see them when i visit k-town this year. ( actually, i was even considering in a few weekends, when half of my class is gone to a pharm conference, but i'm not sure yet...)
also: i'm very sad that grace and i didn't get to go to le biftheque either.
(p.s. marco, do you think you can give grace my pharm 100 notes? or bring them up to kingston with you so when i come visit this term you can give 'em back to me? thanks!)

and now the birthday well-wishes: a very happy birthday to abbie, felix, and ed! i hope you have/had wonderful days!

ohhh... the heady opulence of playing electronic "joker poker" at woodbine. yes, yours truly went to blow big bucks at the woodbine slots at the urging of one grace hu. accompanied with ketan ("i am morally opposed by this and all it stands for"), gracie and i each spent a whopping $5 which miraculously lasted us for three hours and we had fun doing it - which is more than some of those other patrons can say. honestly, those people look like they're having a terrible time AND they keep looking at every one around them suspiciously. anyhow, i had a lot of fun with the two of them at the machines (although my double diamond slots let me down, i discovered the joys of blackjack and poker), teaching grace new vocab words ("what's parking mean?"), and picking up old bet slips from the race track floor and pretending that we bid on a horse. incidentally, the three horses we chose (based on the funny names) were the three lowest ranking ones. but really, the best part of the night (besides spending time with ketan and grace) was buying those awesome $1 plush horse pens... just plain awesome...

in other news, life is going to be pretty blah now that school's back in session. the only thing that will break up the monotony will be my intense dislike for computers... i've pretty much spent the past two late nights shouting expletives at my computers b/c they refuse to cooperate. the worse part is when they tease you by doing exactly what you want for a few minutes in the beginning before they screw up for the next few hours/days/permanently b/c you don't know what the hell you did to get them that way. seriously. i'm not one for cursing, but...

wow. what a holiday break...

oh yeah, i forgot to say this earlier: merry Christmas and happy new year!

i had tons of fun seeing my best friends (mei, benita, allison, and grace), my big sister jenne (back from harvard), felix, and my family (of course). honestly, i've been so blessed with so many wonderful and supportive people in my life. i'm a little disappointed that i didn't get to see any of my mci friends (save gracie and felix) since i haven't seen them in ages, but what can i expect with such a short break? i'm so sad that school starts tommorrow... i'm even sadder that bun, jenne, and everybody's gone away to go back to school... boooo! well, atleast all the queen's people are still around - party at grace's? :p
