it's been an interesting weekend (missions night, softball, dallas/zi's goodbye party), but it ended rather wonderfully. :)

you know why? because i'm in love...

... with dave's prince of persia: the sands of time game on his ps2!!! (oh, and dave's not that bad either, i suppose)

hehehe, i was playing it (and dying quite a lot) while dave was preparing dinner. isn't he a sweetheart? <3 i can pretty much do all the puzzle stuff, but anything requiring skill (intricate jumping sequences or anything with those boobytrap spikes-from-the-ground that i remember so clearly from the old, old PC version -- how the hell do you walk in the game?!?!) or facing an onslaught of more than 10 sand creatures (i can do it when there are around 4 or 5 at once) causes me to shriek out loud and call dave over. yes, i'm one of those ppl that gets really involved with a game -- i'll scream when a bad guy slashes me and i'll tilt from side-to-side when i'm playing a racing game (f-zero!).

but really, the big problem that's hindering me from becoming an awesome video gamer is that all we have in the shui household is our beloved SNES, which doesn't really prepare one for a 3D perspective. i have this tendency to run into corners with the perspectives and angles spinning until i find one where i can see what's directly in front of the prince. which, as mentioned earlier, is just a buncha walls. poor guy, i think i'm making my character dizzy from all that spinning. it's even worse when i'm trying to fight and a palm tree or stupid curtain blocks my view so i can't even see what's going on!!! sigh.

i'm a 2D girl living in a 3D world, baby.
