welcome care! a friend of felix's, huh? i feel for ya... i really do... ;p (you can tell him that!)

today was a good day. here's why:

1) no labs at all, which was really nice.

2) watched the new OC today! though i must say that i'm (i can't believe i'm saying this) a little disappointed with seth these days. poor summer. :(

3) had my appointment with career services today. it was so helpful and for the first time, i'm actually kinda excited about school and the future. what my major problem was (and this answers your question, alex), was that i hadn't really felt much calling or passion about anything. or rather, anything that i felt "marketable" as a skill or career. there are a few subjects that i've been interested in, but nothing that really sparked and made me say "hey, i could really do this for the rest of my life". and that's what made it so tough - and scary - for me. b/c for the past few years of my life, i've really had no direction or drive to accomplish anything. i mean, besides the whole stigma of not being in school or working and (i suppose) my desire for respectability, i've had no goal to work towards and nothing i really cared about in those respects. but after talking with the counsellor, i've got a better idea of where my heart lies and how even the most seemingly unrelated interests can be tied to a certain aspect of the career/field. it was pretty cool - i took a bit to warm up, but once we started up on certain subjects (that i thought were unimportant), she noticed a big change in me. i was apparently more articulate, excited, talking faster (haha), and actually smiling. haha, you guys know how i get once i get excited, right? (nothing'll shut me up!) anyhow, i won't tell you what has sparked my interest yet - i've gotta do a lot of follow-up stuff first before i say anything concrete. but let me just say that i feel a little more (re)assurance and excitement now. truth be told, this has gotten me more excited than any thought of pharmacy really has. this is definitely going to be an interesting (though probably hard) time in my life. anyhow, He/His word is a "lamp onto my feet", right? so as jenne told me yesterday, we really can't see too much beyond a few steps in front of us, and i think that's how He wants it. it's more of a "trust Me" thing. b/c if we planned and knew everything that would happen to us in our lives, why would we have to trust in God? so anyway, he's guiding us down the right path and is revealing His plan as we go along... what i really pray is that i can just take this time and just trust and find joy in it.

4) finally got to have a mini-brock reunion with marco, karolina, and alanna. grace and i went over to the girls' place where we had some dinner, dessert and lots of interesting conversation. i rarely get to see any of them these days, so it was just really nice to get together and just laugh. next up, have spend time with suz, pravin, and the other brock people. maybe even meet up with keith? (psh, yeah right. apparently he's too busy getting the dean pay for his trip to montreal so he can play computer games at a "conference" or "competition" or something... only he could get away with BSing something like that and make it totally believable. the bum.)

5) just finished watching legally blonde with grace (for the billionth time!). i don't care what you guys think, it's just such a great movie... we laughed so hard... the ultimate silly chick flick - i never get sick of it! next up for grace and tiff's untaxing-on-the-brain-cells-yet-thoroughly-enjoyable-movie nights: bring it on and zoolander. such classics!

6) this day is even better with the realization that i don't have any class tommorrow since psych was cancelled! i have the entire day off - maybe i'll go shopping! (well, most likely, sleep in.) haha, now i know what it's like to be an arts student... :p

7) haha, i loved reading your responses on what i should do with my life. for those of you reading this who haven't yet commented, go read the previous post and then do it!! and have i told you how much i looooove receiving comments? even if you don't know me and only stumbled on this page by accident, by all means, leave a message!

p.s. and dude, the miracle blade thing? i'm all over it. chef tony makes cooking in the kitchen look so easy! i mean, who doesn't want a knife that can cut through a shoe like butter? but still, my top infomercials are still ron popeil's showtime rotisserie and bbq (it's totally memorised, i even know the testimonials by heart), the rocket chef (the showcase lady looks so freakishly grin-y), the thunderstick (to whip water, duh!), nads (actually, it really does taste good, i've tried it), and that spinny hair brush that looks like it really should just tangle your hair up instead of straightening and polishing it. oh! and winsor pilates! and proactiv (i heard it really does work, though). did i leave any out?

oh, and the dipped in chocolate thing? while i'm a big fan of the chocolate, it sounds a little too much like asphyxiation to me. does the chocolate harden? you know what it actually reminds me of? this old hanna-barbera cartoon called shazzan that i have at home about a genie and these two twins, chuck and nancy. do you guys remember it? it was great - they even had a flying camel named kaboobie! but i digress. anyway, there was this one bad guy that they encountered who was really cruel and greedy, and he used to dip his enemies in this huge vat of gold to make these (rather disturbing) statues. if you guys haven't seen the movie, you should come over sometime and we can watch it and my mighty mouse ("here i come to save the day!") and rainbow brite movies. ahhh, now those were cartoons!
