i'm baaaaaaack!

whoa, haven't blogged in ages. anyway, i'm back from my little desperately-trying-to-study-for-my-last-set-of-midterms hiatus and ready to blog once more. :) had a midterm yesterday morning and this morning as well, so i'm pretty exhausted. actually, i stayed up all night yesterday which, combined with my mini-cold, caused me to be a little dizzy throughout the day. i was pretty screwed for today's exam since i hadn't started studying until after my psych, so i tried "staggered sleeping-studying" b/c i didn't want to be woozy all of today either (i didn't want to pass out while writing the midterm!). it was kinda modeled after da vinci's alleged sleeping habits. apparently he found time to paint, invent, and be an all-round renaissance man by only sleeping 15 minutes every four hours. crazy, eh? i opted for the "sleep an hour or two, study an hour or two" cycle.

science time: ok, i have to tell you about the coolest/weirdest thing that i saw in our biol 200 video this week. it was about fish and amphibians, and it was talking about the different egg-protecting strategies of frog. there were these frogs, a female with a male on her back, and every time a female laid an egg, they'd do this somersault so the egg would land on her back (!!) and then the male would brush the egg towards the centre of her back. once a whole bunch of eggs had been laid, the male would leave and the female's skin would start to swell, envelop the eggs, and then a protective layer of skin would actually form over the eggs until you couldn't see them anymore (but she'd look really lumpy)! once the eggs hatched, you'd see these little lumps moving around under her skin until the tadpoles finally break free through the skin to live on their own! neat, eh?

anyway, i think i'm going to finish up my lunch and then take a nap. and then maybe do some work. ugh. but on the plus side, i'll be home in toronto this weekend! yay! probably the last time before i come back to toronto for the summer. my plan: rest, eat, and do a lot of research... boo!

and various messages:
> felix: i agree, we should keep in touch. dude, why don't YOU come visit me in kingston? huh?! (sheesh, you never CALL, you never write...) and btw, i'm sorry, but summer is the best. i actually kinda like her even more than marissa, but that also could be due to the fact that mischa barton isn't exactly the best actress... (though i still want marissa and ryan together in the long run). also: what's wrong with being a ditz? :p
> care + jasy: OC parties, huh? actually, my roomie and i have decided to come up with an OC-themed party sometime this summer... it'll be complete with formal wear (though no ugly couture dresses, please), cocktails, caviar/pate/crab phyllo pastries/other fancy-schmancy appetizers, some sort of display of fisticuffs - and did i mention that it'll be on a yacht? and adam brody is so totally my date... sigh. i wish. but it would be fun to dress up and eat outrageously expensive food sometime.
> danny: thanks for the music suggestions (though i still love those old throwbacks to middle school...), any others? also, HI!
> candice: speaking of keeping in touch, we have to meet up this summer... promise? it's been too long!
> alex: did you trying the soap sculpture thing for the DAT?
> bun: ccsa senior league? too scary! (especially since our team doesn't really get too much <3 these days...)
> brandon: where have you been? what's been going on? how are you doing?

actually, if anyone wants to come visit me here in k-town, you totally should. i have too much food in the house and prolly won't be able to finish it before i leave! (my parents came up on sunday to attend service with me and then move some of my stuff back to toronto, but not before depositing an obscene amount of food in my cabinets and fridge.)
